BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner, they are celebrated for a technically intricate vocal style that is both haunting and intensely honest. Maddie’s power lies in the ability to delicately balance the emotions of a powerful lived experience with a hope and light that feels both intensely ancient yet urgently modern.

Their work is defined by subversion and reclamation. By taking traditional ballads, often littered with gendered or exclusionary language, Maddie reframes them through a 21st-century lens. Beyond the music, their performances are deeply personal, bridging the gap between the past and present. They are not just a musician; they are a cultural archivist dedicated to making the folk scene a more diverse and compassionate home for everyone.
